The 1970s/1980s broadcasting In the 1970s, there was a great deal of concern that technological changes would dramatically change the television industry. And there was also hope that new kinds of programming strategies would save broadcasting. We know now that tremendous changes did indeed happen, and we can safely assume that the television that you are used to will change one day, as well. For this discussion, talk about one of the issues from the 1970s/1980s and compare it to a similar issue facing either streaming television or cable television today – not broadcasting. In other words, in the programs, channels, or services that people your age tend to use, what signs do you see that these industries/producers are trying to adapt to current or future changes?
