More documents will be uploaded: If further audio files needed for teacher interviews these can be uploaded. In this assignment you will document a child/young person drawing while they are talking about their favourite place. You may complete this listen experience with your own child/young person. If you complete the listening experience in a language other than English, please provide English translations of the documentation and the gratitude note. You will analyse this drawing and talk session (which we refer to in this assignment as the text composition session) before suggesting some strategies of word knowledge and text understandings that you could complete with the child/young person. You will explore the concepts of student agency. In the analysis of student agency, you will be asked to reference a gratitude note you make for the child/young person that thanks them for the learning you took from them during this experience. If you do not have access to a child/young person after investigating your local and international networks, you can ask if any of your fellow students on the discussion board have access to a child/young person who you could invite to do this drawing and interview. You will also analyse a teacher interview for the policies that inform the teaching of text composition. You will analyse teacher agency in the teaching of text composition and listen to advice from the teacher on how they develop relationships with students. The person you interview must have had classroom or early childhood centre experience in the past five years. Please see teacher interviews provided to allow assessment The interviews are not graded, but the analysis of these interviews is part of your mark for this assignment. If you do not have access to a teacher, you will download an interview that a fellow student has completed. All interviews that are posted on 9 May will be available in this document under the headings at the bottom of this page. An interview can be downloaded from there after May 10. The interview will be analysed as outlined in the Assignment 2 guide.
