Learning Goal: I’m working on a ecology report and need a reference to help me learn.Write a summary in an abt structure ( and, but, therefore) of the paperOverview: very briefly summarize the key findings of the paper, and the audience it would attract. This can be helpful to the editor to see what you took away from it. Given that we have word limits in this class, I would focus on a single key finding. I would identify the gap in the field this paper attempts to fill and then identify how it fills it. In ABT lingo, this would be identifying a key AND statement and the most important BUT statement that contrasts with that.2. Strengths – Focus on Major strengths3. Weaknesses – Focus on Major weaknesses4. Decision: State your decision (Accept Outright, Accept with Minor Revisions, Accept with Major Revisions, Reject) and 1-2 sentences about how you arrived at that decision. I recognize that there’s subjectivity here. But it’s up to you to make a decision that is supported by the rest of your review. For example, you should not decide to “Accept outright” if the rest of your review focuses on major weaknesses. it doesn’t have to be a lot. Just one page
